Hello! It’s so great to have you on the blog! I want start by asking you to introduce yourself, what sorts of things do you enjoy doing with your leisure time?
Hi! My name is Allison Kotarsky and I am the owner and designer of Paper Hearts Invitations. I’ve always had an artistic passion, so in my free time I’m usually designing, crafting, or refinishing an antique piece of furniture! I’m also mama to a sweet little boy who has me completely wrapped around his finger. Since I work from home, he’s my sidekick and office assistant every day.
So tell us a little bit about what you do, the services you offer and where you’re located.
Paper Hearts serves brides in the Morgantown and Uniontown areas primarily, but works with brides all over the country. I specialize in custom designed wedding invitations, but I also design logos, party invitations, and any other stationery items my clients may need. I take your wedding colors, theme and ideas and create a design that is perfect for you and your personality as a couple. Weddings tell the story of your love, why not have an invitation to reflect that?
Aside from purposes of income, why do you do what you do? What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love being in the wedding industry because I enjoy working with head over heels in love and excited brides-to-be. Taking someone else’s vision and expressing it through paper designs challenges me as an artist, but I love growing and learning new things with each new bride I meet.
Do you have a mission statement, or to put it more simply, do you have a mission in general when you think about completing your work?
The quote “Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can” by Arthur Ashe has really stuck with me since I first heard it about three years ago. It’s become my self motto and my business mission statement. I have dreams to one day have a store front with pretty stationery items on display and a large wedding consultation room, but for now, I really do love my one-person small business and working in my home office. It gives me the opportunity to focus on what is important about my job, my brides.
Are there any ways in which your business gives back to the community?
I’ve always believed in shopping small. When you book a local wedding vendor to provide services for your wedding, you are keeping the money right here in your community. You are also going to get a more focused and one-on-one, customized experience working with a local stationery designer rather than ordering invitations online.
What is the best way for people to contact you?
